The story follows an Earth Security Service (ESS) operative who is assigned to investigate a series of disturbing incidents connected to an isolated research operation on a distant planet. What begins as a routine security investigation slowly evolves into something far greater — a mystery involving corporate interests, government secrecy, and questions about how far those in power will go to protect their ambitions.

James Holloway - Main Character. Security Operative

The operative is supported by a crew of four specialists aboard their spacecraft:
Bill Williams – Pilot
An experienced pilot responsible for navigating dangerous missions across the colonies. Initially loyal to ESS command, Bill believes in maintaining order and following procedure. Ronny Hall – Engineer

Lilly Waters – Medic

Bernard Holloway – Investigations Officer
